The new paintings begin where I left off. The last paintings exhibited 1992 in Trondhjems Kunstforening arose out of a visit to the Museum of Ocean Life in Santa Barbara, where I was making woodblock prints. This body of work remained in my mind as a seed.
Reconsidering this theme in Sweden, my work with woodblock printing brought me to the possibility of printing on linen and to include the incorporated text insets, the painted mark and other such information. They exist within their own totality and speak of the natural world.
